“When singers can’t hear what they expect to hear, they either push and empty the tank or pull back and lose support. Good monitoring helps them stay in control.”

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions.

How long does it take to make custom IEMs?

Most custom IEMs are built in up to 10 business days once UE Pro receives approved ear impressions. Your total timeline also includes the audiologist appointment and delivery of the impressions.

Are universal or custom IEMs better for vocalists?

Universal IEMs are a strong option if you want professional monitoring without impressions. Customs are the better choice when a personalized fit, consistent seal, and long-term stage confidence are top priorities.

When should I choose UE 350?

Choose UE 350 if you want a high-performance universal IEM for rehearsals, services, gigs, or practice. It’s also a smart backup if you already perform on customs.

When should I choose a custom IEM?

Choose customs if you perform regularly, move a lot on stage, struggle to keep universal tips sealed, or want a more consistent listening reference across venues.

Why can’t I hear myself singing on stage?

Your voice may be too low, but it may also be competing with too much stage sound or missing the pitch, timing, and room context you use to perform. Check the seal and the placement of your voice before raising the whole mix.

Why does my voice sound different in IEMs?

Sealed in-ears change the balance between the voice you hear through the air and the vibrations you hear through your head. A comfortable vocal level, a touch of reverb, room microphones, and time to acclimate can make the mix feel more natural.

Should I sing with one in-ear monitor out?

It may feel more connected at first, but it gives each ear a different listening picture and can lead you to turn the sealed side up. A better long-term approach is to use both ears and add reverb and room or audience microphones to the mix.

What support comes with UE Pro customs?

UE Pro provides a 90-day Fit Guarantee, a 30-day return option minus the customization fee, and a 10-business-day repair turnaround. Link to the current policies for complete terms.
