The idea behind the Ultimate Ears UE REFERENCE REMASTERED was simple yet bold. We wanted to take all the benefits of using in-ear monitors on stage and apply those to the studio. We knew that more and more production work was being done remotely and we knew that in-ear monitors provided immersive isolation and gave unprecedented detail.
So we teamed up with Capitol Studios to create the ideal in-ear monitor for high resolution audio playback & recording. We wanted a custom monitor that was built for transparency and accuracy and that was voiced to replicate the sound of Capitol Studio’s legendary Studio A.
We wanted a solution that was extremely portable, powerful, and one that would translate to any playback device. All too often, mixes created on headphones sounded small and boxy — like they were mixed on headphones. We needed the final output to be big and accurate, to have the instruments placed exactly where you put them.
